Singer-songwriter Fynbos has released a brand new track titled ‘The Only One’, a thoughtful ode to those people and places we can never see again.
The track opens with a wailing, plaintive guitar riff which weaves and expands throughout the track. Fynbos’ lyrics are somewhat downcast, flowing like melancholic poetry over the subdued instrumentals.
‘The Only One’ brings to mind a number of indie favourites, reminiscent of The Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire, or perhaps The Cure. The combination of pared-back but artfully layered music with raw, questioning lyrics has a strikingly emotive effect on the listener.
Despite the darker content of his track, Fynbos’ story as an artist is one of hope and perseverance. He grew up in India, in love with the music of Britpop icons like Pulp, Blur and Oasis. At the age of 18 he moved to the UK, where he aspired to be a musician. Initially, this did not happen for him. But he pushed through and is now ready to take the stage as a mature musician.
A determined, self-taught guitarist, he worked his way up through the Manchester music scene. Through 10 years of hard work, he has borne impressive musical fruits with ‘The Only One’.
‘The Only One’, the latest track from Fynbos, is out now! Go ahead and give it a listen- we guarantee you won’t regret it.
