Alan Mair is taking you all the way to the 80s and back to the future with his nostalgia-laden new single ‘Eyes to the Sky’, which came out 06/08/21 via AWAL.

Following his success as the bassist of The Only Ones, who wrote the punk rock hit ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’, Alan Mair is going solo. Alan has written, produced and sung ‘Eyes to the Sky’, with his talents complemented by stellar guitar work from Zal Cleminson.

The single has a sound that will remind the listener of fan favourites like Tears for Fears and Simple Minds and vocals that smack Gary Numan. Alan Mair brings the kind of vision and uniqueness to a familiar sound that only a true musical talent can provide.

Clearly an outstanding success in the music industry, Alan has been supported by iconic groups like U2 and Simple Minds. Furthermore, he has supported legendary bands including The Who, White Stripes and Primal Scream. With a synth-heavy sound reminiscent of Joy Division, Alan Mair has performed at an impressive range of events, including Glastonbury and the O2 Wireless Festival. Alongside his success with The Only Ones, the singer was fundamental in propelling Scottish band The Beatstalkers to stardom.

An accompanying music video to ‘Eyes to the Sky’ has also been released on YouTube, featuring original 80s footage of Alan fooling around on Hampton Heath. The visuals capture the retro feel of the music perfectly, alongside adding a warm charm to the music that only such authentic and candid footage can.

Any and all fans of nostalgic 80s synth pop should make sure to give Alan Mair’s vivid new single a listen as soon possible. To discover more about the artist, make sure to have a look at the links below:
